The 7-section structure that works
Call to order, roll call & quorum, consent calendar, financial report, old business, new business (each with motion text), executive session, adjournment. Predictable structure = faster meetings.
Consent calendar: the time saver
Group all routine, non-controversial items (minutes approval, standard contracts) into a single block voted en masse. Any director can pull an item for discussion. Saves 30–45 minutes per meeting.
Write motions, not topics
Replace "discuss landscaping" with "Motion to approve $12,400 landscaping contract from Acme Gardens for 12 months". Boards can only vote on specific motions — vague agendas force re-meetings.
Build your agenda in Quorade
Quorade pulls open items from the previous minutes, prefills required sections and lets directors submit proposals before the meeting. The agenda writes itself.
